The Heritage Park Regional Library is served by its bookstore, which is operated by the Friends of the Library. The Friends provide considerable financial support that allows the library to acquire materials, run programs, and provide equipment, including machines and portable magnifiers for the visually impaired.
We have been highly successful in raising money for otherwise unfunded library needs. Last year, our sales income (bookstore and online) was over $84,000, resulting in over $80,000 in donations to the library. It has been used by the library for the purchase of equipment, furnishings, special books & media (including e-books), audio-visual materials (audio books and DVDs), subscriptions, and a wide variety of programs for children, teens and adults.
In addition, donations of ‘gently used’ items went directly to the library collections, worth an estimated value over $3,500.
